Little Hands Signing (LHS) was founded in May 2006 by Adam Dieter. As a parent of young children interested in Sign Language he searched for programs that offered the education and came up empty handed. Adam then decided to provide that very same service.
LHS offers fun, educational, and active courses for each student. There are many activites such as: games, foods, arts and crafts for each course. Students are encouraged to use their imaginations and share ideas. The origin of many signs are given to the students and parents which assists long-term memory of the lessons.
Adam Dieter, a father of two from Rochester New York, began Sign Language in 1996 and became fluent. He originally went to college for a Masters of Social Work (MSW). During the completion of courses and using knowledge of more than seven years experience, he attended Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) where his primary study was American Sign Language Interpreter. Adam utilized both skills to begin the creation of LHS. He has interpreted for many local business such as: Lions Club, Target, Lowes Home Improvement, American Red Cross (ARC), Center for Disability Rights (CDR), Rite Aid Pharmacy, Pontillo's Pizza, and the Holiday Inn. Adam produced and taught Sign Language to adults through some of the organizations listed above. He has assisted the Instructors with the past courses that LHS has to offer and will continue to assist with future courses
